Before
Questions about results, trends or comparisons went to someone who had to retrieve the data, prepare a report and send it back. In a company where decision-making speed matters, this was a genuine bottleneck. The data was available, but accessing it required an intermediary and a wait.
Discovery
Conversations with the team revealed unequal access to data: some people knew how to find it and others did not. The tools existed, but required technical knowledge or familiarity with the system architecture. The aim was to create an interface that any manager could use without training or knowledge of how the systems were built.
What we tested
- Accessing data by asking a question — can a manager ask about a result, comparison or trend and receive a ready-made answer without entering the system or formatting a query?
- Multiple sources, one answer — how can data from different places be combined into a coherent result that can be verified quickly?
