More than a dozen recordings, with answers ready in a spreadsheet — no manual listening required

Answers from recordings could only be transferred to the spreadsheet manually: listening to each recording, finding the answer to every question and entering it into the table. With several interviews, this took many hours.

Before

The client regularly conducted in-depth interviews with directors of companies from the same sector. Each round consisted of more than a dozen interviews using the same set of questions. After every interview, someone had to listen to the recording, identify the answers to each question and enter them into a shared comparison table. With ten interviews, many hours of work were required before the overview was ready for analysis.

Discovery

The process was repetitive and well defined: the same questions, the same spreadsheet structure and multiple recordings. We tested whether transcription and answer assignment could be automated, with the result transferred directly into a ready-made table and no manual work between the recording and the spreadsheet.

What we tested

  • Transcription and matching — can the application process a recording and assign each statement to the correct question without manual intervention?
  • Quality and control — can answers be edited into a clear form while retaining access to the original transcript for verification?

What changed

The client provides a spreadsheet containing the questions and the interview recordings. The application transcribes each conversation, extracts the answers and arranges them in a table, with questions in rows and interviewees in columns. The original transcript remains available alongside every answer.

Client decision

The solution replaced manual data entry. The client continues to use the application in subsequent rounds of interviews.
